Dignified Life in Europe or Happy Return to Africa
Chairman of the African Union convened the first and most important consultative meeting bringing together Faith Leaders, African NGO’s, African Ambassadors and
Foreign Affairs representatives from Europe,
National and International media, Professors, Lawyers, and Researchers to deepen his understanding of the issues facing Africans in different European states following his 2009 historic tours and meetings with the African migrants in Europe. President Gaddafi facilitated a consultative workshop under the auspices of General Arab-African NGO Forum to assess the key issues/barriers facing African migrants based in the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands and Portugal and so on. This fact finding meeting was held on 8th-9th May 2010 / in the city of Tripoli (Libya), Great Jamahiriya.
After two days of exhaustive deliberations on identifying the root causes for migration to European countries, discussants outlined their real life experiences of living in Europe focusing on key challenges facing African women and children, African Youths, European Attitudes and Faith Based Discrimination, Disease burden, African migrant workers, Human Right Abuses and Violations within European institutions.
Participants agreed on key resolutions/structure as a means to address those challenges and recommended specific action points as a mile stone to meeting those objectives.

SVR provides premium quality programming highlighting the needs, achievements and successes of the Somali community. It also provides valuable information to the Somali community that would have otherwise been difficult for them to access. |
